Hawaiʻi CARES 988 works with a statewide network of providers focused around crisis intervention, substance use disorder treatment, mental health, and other behavioral health services. One call to us connects individuals to the behavioral health services they need.

Our qualified call staff are trained to offer a listening ear and compassion. When individuals reach out to us, they are brave and ready for things to be different. We are committed to being each person(s) advocate throughout their journey.

When should you contact Hawai‘i CARES 988?

  • When you feel stress, sadness, anxiety, or loneliness and those feelings begin to interfere with your appetite, sleep, work or school.
  • When you have dependency on alcohol or drugs, and you feel like you’ll never be free from the desire to use.
  • If you are experiencing emotional or physical harm whether you have caused yourself harm or someone else has caused you harm.
  • When you want to help someone else.
